Introduction
Team building skills are critical for a person's effectiveness as a manager or entrepreneur. In addition, even if he is not in a management or leadership role yet, better understanding of teamwork can make him a more effective employee and give him an extra edge in his corporate office. A team building success is when his team can accomplish something much bigger and work more effectively than a group of the same individuals working on their own.

The following four areas of responsibility for a supervisor will be touched on:
• Self discovery
  - Heightened awareness of how individual roles and behaviours can impact team performance
- Sharing of team experiences and reflections about current team effectiveness helps team members’ alignment in terms of their perceptions and expectations
- Self awareness and discovery
• Understanding our paradigms – how they impact how we think and behave
• Developing pro-activity
   
• Building and fostering teamwork
  - Build and enhance interpersonal relationship through experiential activities
- Identify and understand the characteristics of an effective team
• Competencies that make a team effective

- Team processes to manage team dynamics and behaviours
- Using the five key principles of interaction in the interpersonal interactions
